From the Jersey Archive Catalogue: "D/Y Judicial Greffe D/Y/A/26/125: Testament of Jeanne Gruchy of St John. Dated 03/02/1843. Desires to be buried in St John's Cemetery. Bequeaths to the poor of Jersey, 1728 livres of old French currency, and the residue of her movable estate for the benefit of the poor of the 12 parishes in Jersey, to buy land in each parish to be distributed amongst the poor. Codicil Added: 05/03/1847 proven 25/01/1848".

St Brelade, at the top of Le Mont des Longcamps (notice the reversed N).
Clos des Pauvres (T). The 1881 stone is on La Rue de la Croiserie and the one from 1859 on La Route de la Trinité. The later stone marks an increase in the holding from the general Parish Charité of 2 vergées 3 perches. The Don Gruchy consisted of 9 vergées 7 perches.
