Salutâtions. There were two 'functions' in May. Firstly, the meeting to organise our presentation at La Fête dé la Mé at Gouray, and, secondly, La Fête itself. Geraint organised these and provided the materials, for which he is to be congratulated. The weather was fine and we were given a table in the centre of the promenade. The display material included a fine poster 'en couleu et en Jèrriais' and leaflets for recipes. In addition, there were text books and cassettes; all were very realistically priced and we sold quite a few recipes and had many discussions. We also directed people to try the oysters and Muscadet opposite, as well as the Wonders further along.
Thank you to those who replied regarding missing accents; we should all continue to keep watch, and the Committee will write to the organisations concerned.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, 7th June, at 8.00 pm at La Société Jersiaise to compose the titles for a Jersey Day Book series of photographs en Jèrriais and do some more language exercises.
