Dézembre 2007

Eisteddfod 2007 Salutâtions tout l'monde et un tas d'félicitâtions à l'êtchipe d'èrcitâtion!
Thank you to everyone who attended last month's meeting; it paid off. Under Geraint's baton we practised as well as we could, given our level of expertise but kept something in reserve for the night.
The Eisteddfod was very enjoyable and again the school pupils were excellent with the six finalists giving repeat performances on the Saturday evening before our section competition.
We once more trod the boards at La Salle Publyique dé St. Martîn and our performance of J'sommes en Avou by Elie earned us 93 marks and a Platinum Certificate…..and a photo shoot for the JEP last Tuesday. This is highest award we gained and we were all a little surprised. Maybe we are getting better but we were still beaten by one mark!
There are a number of events in La Fête dé Noué during which we can relax and enjoy ourselves; they are as follows;
Thursday, Dec 6th. 6. 30 7. 00pm. Carol Singing by the Cider Press outside M&S. Meet 6.15pm.
Sunday, Dec. 9th. 1. 30 2. 30pm. Carol Singing & Dancing at the Normandy Market in the Royal Square. Meet 1.15pm.
Saturday, Dec. 15th. 7. 30 8. 30pm. Annual Service of the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols in Jèrriais, at St. Andrews Church, First Tower. Meet 7.15pm.
These always create an excellent atmosphere and one can derive much pleasure from them.
Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday, 5th. December in the Arthur Mourant Room at the SJ. for a Carol Practice, some sherry and mince pies.

***NB. For your diaries, our Annual Review and Programme meeting in the New Year can be Wed. 2nd or Wed. 9th January which may be decided next week.
