From the Guernsey Evening Press, Wednesday, December 28, 1955

It is with regret that we announce the death at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital
at 3.40 a.m. on Christmas Day of Mrs S.J. Falla, wife of Mr. S. J Falla, of
Sous l'Eglise, St. Saviour.

She had been ill for some time and was 68. For the past 24 years, Mr. and
Mrs Falla have been agents for the Guernsey Evening Press, having taken
over the business from the late Mr N. Falla.

Outside their little cottage, which is situated in the shadow of St Saviour's
Church, is an old poster advertising this paper and testifying how many years
the Falla family have been connected with newspapers.

During the Occupation, Mrs Falla delivered the local papers on her cycle and
was given free passage through permitted areas by the German guards.

In all weathers, Mr and Mrs Falla have delivered the papers and only recently
were they forced to sell the business.

Before her marriage, she was a Miss Rosetta Kemp. The funeral service is today at
2.30 at St Saviour's Church.

Left to mourn her loss are Mr S.J. Falla and her son, Rex, and to them the
Guernsey Evening Press would extend heartfelt sympathy.
