Salutâtions tout l'monde; tchi bieau p'tit Jèrri auvec tant dé g'zettes et des clios en plastique !
Preunmiéthement, mèrcie bein des fais à touos les cheins qu' eûtent la bouonté dé corrigé man preunmyi êffort d'un fieillet en Jèrriais et à touos les cheins tchi m' ont donné dé l'encouathagement.
Deuxièmement, not' fouôrré d'êtalage dait c'menchi dévant la fin du mais, auvec la bouonne aîgue de Lucy Allchurch (JMS), Denis Le Breuilly (de la Salle Collège), Mathie et Sally d'la Bibliothèque (Soc. Jers).
Traîsièmement, i' y' étha eune Fête Nouormande - Langues et Culture, lé Sanm'di, lé 17 d'Avri à Hamptonne, auvec présentâtions dé poésie, d'chanson, et d'danse dé Jèrri, dé Nouormandie, et d' Dgèrnésy et étout auvec les êtalages du Don Balleine, d' l'Assembliée d'Jèrriais, et d'la Section 'Jèrriaise' (Soc. Jers.). Ché s'sa un êvénement tchi n' faut pas mantchi et vot' support es'sa hardi bein apprêcyié.
Enfin, comme i' y' étha eune rêunion des Musées Jèrriais à La Hougue Bie (Sanm'di 3/4/99), not' préchaine rêunion en Avri, es'sa "comme trejous" i.e, Mêcrédi, lé 7 d'Avri, à 8 heuthes du sé à la Salle des Conmités - à haut - d'la Sociêté Jèrriaise, au No.7 Lé Bas du Mont, pouor "Les Preunmié Mille Mots" et étout, eune liste dé noms dé tchiques ouaîsieaux dé Jèrri.

First of all, thank you to those who kindly corrected my attempt at a newsletter en Jèrriais and to those who encouraged me to continue!
Secondly, our display should commence before the end of the month in the Museum on the second floor, with the kind help of Lucy Allchurch (Jersey Museums Service), Denis Le Breuilly (de la Salle College) and Mary and Sally in the Société Library.
Thirdly, on Saturday, April 17th 1999, there will be a Fête Normande - Langues et Culture, with contributions from Jersey, Normandy and Guernsey in poetry, song and dance and displays from the Don Balleine, L'Assembliée d'Jèrriais and La Section (Société Jersiaise) at Hamptonne. It will be an event not to be missed and your support will be greatly appreciated.
Finally, due to competition with a Jersey Museums Service event at La Hougue Bie, our April meeting will be "normal", i.e. on Wednesday, April 7th at 8.00pm in the Société Jersiaise Committee Room, 7 Pier Road, for the first editing of Les Mille Preunmièrs Mots and a compilation of Jersey Bird names. Again, your help will be invaluable.
