The History Section
La Section d'l'Histouaithe
At our meetings, we sometimes have talks and presentations by members on the results of their researches: the history of buildings, companies, objects, people, letters from individuals in the past, or anything else that intrigues them or captures their imagination. Photos and objects are sometimes brought along for identification. No matter is too small to cast light on some aspect of Jersey history. Everyone has an opportunity to contribute to discussion, but nobody is obliged to talk.
New members are always welcome.
The Section meets every third Tuesday of the month. The venue is usually the Arthur Mourant Room, 3rd floor of the Société Jersiaise, 7 Pier Road, St Helier. Time: 5.15 p.m. to finish by 7.00 p.m. Occasionally there are extra meetings, which take the form of visits to local places of interest.
