The St Ouen Millennium Cross was dedicated at a ceremony held at the site of the Cross at the south entrance to St Ouen's Manor on Sunday 27th August.

The short Service of Dedication was led by the Rector, the Revd John Harkin, following an introduction by the Connétable, Ken Vibert, who thanked the States' Policy and Resources Committee for donating the Cross to the Parish and the Seigneur, Philip Malet de Carteret, for allowing the Cross to be erected at the entrance to the Manor.

After a reading from Philippians 2 by Deputy Ken Syvret, the Rector dedicated the Cross.

Almighty God our Father, to you one day is as a thousand years,
and a thousand years as one day,
we thank You for the years of our salvation,
in which the world has been brought by You out of darkness,
into the clear light and true knowledge of Your only Son Jesus.

We thank You for the cross of Christ,
which is the glory of all Your faithful people across the world.

It is in Your name that we now dedicate this Millennium Cross.

May it be to all who pass by a sign of the loving sacrifice of Jesus,
and may it draw them to love You with all their hearts
and serve their neighbours in the power of Your Holy Spirit,

We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
